  • PDF

This is a real interesting topic for us, and something many people ask about all the time. Is pass plus worth it? Many road safetygovernment officials have said, pass plus is a failure and the direct link between that and insurance has flawed.

Pass plus was designed by the DSA and was aiming to be the BEST additional training for a new driver after passing the initial driving test. It wanted to give additional driving experience and valuable knowledge to drivers who has just passed their driving test. In addition, it wanted to teach, new skills and techniques, improve alertness and reduce the chances of road traffic collisions.

As we know, 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers has an collision in the first 6 months of passing their practical driving test. Pass Plus includes 6 major parts which will effect in creation of superior drivers who may respond more promptly to incidents they ome across whilst driving. In other words, confidence will be improved and more knowledgeable drivers will be created as a result.

By Taking pass plus, you should benefit from

  1.  More experience, which will increase your confidence as a new or young driver.
  2. Better driving skills and better knowledge of the road.
  3. A reduced chance of being involvedin a road traffi collision
  4. Save Money - Pass plus shoud = cheaper insurance premiums, but that IS NOT the case now.

Pass plus aims to build on the skills you acquired throughout the time you was learningto drive, hopefully making you a safer and more aware driver. The course takes around 6 six hours to complete and and is broken down into the following practical modules:

  1. Driving in Town
  2. Driving in rural roads
  3. Driving at night
  4. Driving in different weather conditions
  5. Driving on dual carriageways
  6. Driving on motorways

Even though you are required to complete all the above sections, you are not required to have a test, all you have to do is demonstrate that you continually achieve a good standard.
